Bailey Zappe is a 25-year-old American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. He was born on April 26, 1999, in Victoria, Texas. Zappe played college football at Houston Baptist University and later at Western Kentucky University, where he set records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season.

In 2022, the New England Patriots selected Zappe in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He played 14 games for the Patriots over two seasons, starting in eight of them. During this time, he completed 192 out of 304 passes, totaling 2,053 yards, with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

In August 2024, the Patriots released Zappe, and he joined the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad. Later that year, in October, the Cleveland Browns signed him to their active roster after their starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.

As of January 2025, Zappe is set to start as quarterback for the Browns in their final game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens. This will make him the 40th different starting quarterback for the Browns since 1999.

The Browns have had a challenging season, with a current record of 3 wins and 13 losses. They are looking to end the season on a positive note with Zappe leading the offense.

Zappe’s journey reflects his determination and adaptability as he continues to develop his career in professional football.
