Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg says his new film,Which follows two cousins on a Holocaust tour, is not meant to be overly serious.
Eisenberg, 41 known for his role in Zombieland, wrote, directed, and starred in a Real Pain. He plays David, alongside succession Star Kieran Culkin, who plays his cousin Benji.
Speaking at the 68 BFI London film festival, Jesse Eisenberg shared, “ I like to write about big topics but in a way that doesn’t feel too formal.” Here explained that while the movie deals with the Holocaust, it isn’t meant to be overly serious or feel like a history lesson. “ I wanted the film to be something people can connect with- funny, sad, and reflective of what it’s like to visit a meaningful place with someone close to you.”
Jesse Eisenberg Described a humorous moment in the film where Benji, instead of being serious on the tour,encourages the group to take pictures in front of statues of Polish soldiers, as if they’re part of the group.
When writing that scene, Jesse Eisenberg’s sister suggested that only Kieran Culkin could play Benji,and Jesse Eisenberg agrees it was the perfect Choice.
He also revealed that his next movie will start filming in March, and he aims to make one film each year.
