Lagos, Nigeria – A United Airlines flight traveling from Lagos, Nigeria, to Washington, D.C., had to turn back shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. The sudden problem caused the plane to shake, injuring six people on board.
The Boeing 787 had 245 passengers, eight flight attendants, and three pilots on board. Just after takeoff, the plane moved unexpectedly, causing four passengers and two flight attendants to fall and get hurt. They were taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.
The flight safely landed back at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. United Airlines helped the passengers by providing hotel rooms and other support.
Videos shared online showed items scattered in the aisle, showing how sudden the movement was. Officials from the airline and aviation authorities are now investigating to find out what went wrong. They said the problem was not caused by turbulence.
United Airlines stated that passenger safety is their top priority and promised to prevent similar issues in the future.
